Elders
Under the direction of Pastor Geyser and Maryann there are three portfolio groupings:
• Ruling Elders
- Correction, discipline
• Officiating Elders
- Water baptism, Child dedication
• Shepherding Leaders
- Visitation, encouragement
Some elders may lead additional ministries or be involved in specific areas of support to the body.
This year it seems as though the world is becoming more complex and antagonistic toward Christians. Increasingly, the news is more negative, however, we have a firm hope in Jesus and our duty is to exhort and to encourage one another in our walk. Paul had these words of encouragement for the Philippians (4:8-9 NLT) which is sound advice when troubled by events: “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is pure, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you have learned and received from me-everything you have heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.”
